1. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information collected automatically, and (c) information from third parties used to deliver the app and services.

  • Account information: email address, login identifiers, and account settings (e.g., preferences).
  • Profile information (optional): name, profile photo, riding preferences, horse details, and other info you choose to add.
  • Usage and device information: app interactions, approximate device details (device type, OS version), performance logs, and diagnostic information.
  • Content you create: community posts, comments, captions, photos/videos you upload, and related metadata you choose to share.
  • Support communications: messages you send to us (email/support requests) and any information you include.

2. How we use information

We use your information to operate, maintain, and improve Clear Round, including to:

  • Provide core features (workouts, training videos, tracking, reports, horse profiles, community features).
  • Create and manage your account and authenticate sign-in.
  • Personalise your experience (e.g., saved content, preferences, horse profiles).
  • Measure performance and fix bugs, crashes, and reliability issues.
  • Protect the community by preventing spam, fraud, and abusive behaviour.
  • Communicate with you about updates, support requests, and important changes to the service.

3. Sharing and third parties

We may share information in the following situations:

  • Service providers: vendors who help us host data, run the app, deliver emails, analytics, and support tools. They are permitted to process information only to provide services to us.
  • App stores and platform providers: Apple and Google may collect information as part of providing the App Store / Google Play services, payments, and device-level functionality. Their privacy policies apply to their processing.
  • Legal and safety: if we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and prevent fraud/abuse.
  • Business changes: if we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction (with protections required by law).

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Location data (ride tracking)

If you use ride tracking features, the app may request permission to access your device location (GPS) to record routes and ride statistics. You can control location access in your device settings at any time.

  • When collected: typically during an active ride recording session (depending on your settings and permissions).
  • How used: to draw your route, calculate distance/time, and generate ride summaries and reports.
  • Your control: you may disable location permissions; some features may not work without location access.

5. Community content

If you post to the community, other users may see the content you share (e.g., your post text, images, and any profile details you choose to show). Please only share what you’re comfortable making visible to others.

  • Community content may be public within the app (depending on your settings and how the community is designed).
  • We may remove content that violates our rules or is abusive/spam.
  • If you delete a post, we will remove it from the community view, but limited residual copies may remain in backups for a short period.

6. Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods can vary depending on the type of data and how it’s used.

  • Account data is typically retained while your account remains active.
  • Backup copies may remain for a limited time after deletion due to system integrity and disaster recovery processes.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  • Use a strong password and protect access to your device.
  • Contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as:

  • Access: request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: request deletion of your account and personal information (subject to legal requirements and limited exceptions).
  • Objection/Restriction: object to or restrict certain processing in some cases.
